FCCN is a clinically integrated network using a messenger model in its communications with managed care organizations. FCCN enhances the use of technology in its member practices to apply consistent evidence based treatment and to monitor compliance with the network guidelines. FCCN has developed web based software to insure compliance with this approach to the treatment of patients with cancer. Member physicians in FCCN are committed to implementing novel patient education programs. Additionally, FCCN members participate in educational programs to enhance and increase compliance with physician developed practice management guidelines. A commitment to formal discussions regarding end of life care in patients with terminal diagnoses is another core commitment of FCCN members. FCCN works closely with both payers, members of the oncology community and academic institutions to measure and improve clinical outcomes.
